For those of you who may not know on Monday Steph had insisted that we get our taxes done before Parker got here, and knowing better than to argue with her we hopped in the jeep and headed to town. It was 5:30 and we had just about finished our taxes when her water broke, right there in the tax office! So we hopped back in the jeep and headed home with Steph having contractions every four minutes the whole way. On the way home I called the midwife to let her know she should start heading on up here (she lives in Layton about 45 minutes south). The midwife said to call her after we arrived home and let her know if there had been any change in timing of Steph’s contractions. We were at the house for maybe 15 minutes when we decided to call the midwife back because Steph’s contractions were coming much faster, so the midwife said she would head right up here. During this time I was setting up the birthing pool and running back and forth to make sure Steph was OK. Once the pool was set up I helped her in and there we stayed until the midwife showed up just 8 minutes before Parker’s birth. From the time Steph’s water broke to the time Parker was born was only 2 hours!
So now he is here and we are enjoying every minute of it!
